Public events with warmth, craft & community at their heart

Luminous Events is a Durham Region public event organization dedicated to creating meaningful experiences that bring families, businesses, artists, and community organizations together.

From cultural celebrations like Bollywood Garba to family-friendly expos and vendor showcases, every event is designed to be welcoming, joyful and open to everyone — and to give local businesses a genuine stage in front of their neighbours.

A full house at Pickering High School: honoured guests on stage, shopping stalls and a kids' corner, dandiya in every corner of the hall — and a dance floor that stayed full all night.

The Neon Hour

As the night rolled on, the lights dropped, the glow glasses came out and the dance floor lit up. The Neon Hour turned a school hall into a full-blown celebration — every generation on their feet, every hand in the air.

What started in 2018 as a unique idea has become a sold-out annual tradition that brings hundreds of families, youth, and community members together every year — with dandiya, costume contests, food and community vendors in a welcoming, all-ages format.
